How to Save Images From Your Screen

When publishing articles on eHow or to any web site that allows you to include images you can use images from many sources.

There are Free Image Sites (read the fine print for usage rules) and you can sometimes copy images from web sites or Google images if you give image credits.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A PC with a Screen Capture Program (often referred to as a "Sniping" tool).
  1. Step 1
Use Show and Hide Options to Select Size and Type
Use Show and Hide Options to Select Size and Type

    USE GOOGLE THEN CLICK IMAGES

Type in a keyword that will display images you are looking for. Then Click the images link to display images.

If you click the "Show Options" you can select from sizes and types of images.

  2. Step 2

    OPEN YOUR SNIPPING TOOL

Locate the snipping tool or screen capture tool on your computer. Your screen may change brightness to show the snipping tool is active.

Your mouse should show a cross hair or + to indicate the beginning of the capture area. Hold the Left button down and drag your mouse over the area you want to capture.

Let go of the button when you are finished selecting the area you want to capture. Your capture tool should now show the new image you captured from the screen.

  3. Step 3

SAVE THE CAPTURE AS A JPG, GIF OR PNG FILE

Most Screen Capture or snipping tool programs have a "File" "save as" function. If not, locate the save function and use the save or save as type of JPG, GIF or PNG. Any of those formats should be compatible.

You may want to save it as all three to see which one looks the best.

Remember to save it in a folder on your computer where you will be able to find it. I created a folder called ehow in "my documents" folder to make it even easier to locate them.
