How to Get HBO Channel Played on Satellite TV to PC

There are several different satellite providers located throughout the country, most of which offer a package that includes HBO. If you currently receive HBO via your satellite provider you have the capability of viewing the content of the station over any device that has a video tuner, including not only your television, but possibly your personal desktop computer also.

Things You'll Need:

• Satellite receiver
• HBO programming
• Coaxial cable
• Computer
• TV tuner

1. Step 1

   Install a TV tuner card into your computer if you do not currently have one on your system. The tuner is going to look exactly like the "In" or "Out" ports on a television (where the antenna or cable is connected). These cards can be purchased for less than $50 at most electronic computer stores, such as Radio Shack and Best Buy. If you own a laptop you can purchase a TV tuner express port that easily slides into the expansion port on the laptop.

2. Step 2

   Install any drivers and software that comes with the TV tuner card. You need these drivers and software installed before you can begin watching HBO on your computer.

3. Step 3

   Connect a coaxial cable into the "Out" port of the satellite receiver. Plug the other end of the cable into the tuner port on the computer.

4. Step 4

   Power on the satellite receiver and launch the program that controls the TV tuner on your computer.

5. Step 5

   Adjust the channel to HBO with the satellite receiver remote. The HBO content is going to be displayed onto the computer screen via the TV card installed on the system
