How to Back Up a Hard Drive on Windows 2000

Hard drive backups can be used to restore the files in Windows 2000, if the system crashes for one reason or another. Operating systems generally crash because of corrupted system files. You can backup all the important files and documents and save them in a secure location for later use.

Go to "Start," point to "Programs," point to "Accessories," point to "System Tools," and then click on "Backup."

  2. Step 2

Click to select "Backup Wizard," and then click "Next."

  3. Step 3

Click on "Back up selected files, drives, or network data" under "What to Back Up," and then click on "Next."

  4. Step 4

Select the hard disk drive that you want to back up in the dialog box that opens.

  5. Step 5

Select the location where you want to store the backup in the "Where to Store the Backup" page.

  6. Step 6
