How to Connect Sandisk Adapter to a Computer

If you take lots of photographs with your digital camera or download a lot of tunes to your MP3 player, you need a fast and easy way to move those flies back and forth between those devices and your computer. Installing a Sandisk adapter is an excellent way to accomplish that goal. These devices are easy to connect, and they allow you to take files from your camera, MP3 player or other device to and from your computer.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • USB cable
  • Sandisk adapter
  1. Step 1

Ensure that your computer has at least one free USB port available. If you bought your computer within the last five years, it probably does have plenty of USB ports, but it is important to check before you get started.

  2. Step 2

Unpack the Sandisk adapter and make sure that all of the needed materials are in the package. Make sure that the package includes a USB cable. If no cable is included, you will need to purchase one separately.

  3. Step 3

Connect the square end of the USB cable to the back of the Sandisk adapter, then connect the flat end of the cable to a free port on your computer.

  4. Step 4

Make sure your computer is powered on. You can attach the Sandisk adapter while your computer is on. Then power on the Sandisk adapter and watch the lower right-hand corner of your computer for a "found new hardware" message.

  5. Step 5

Allow the computer to go through the process of finding the Sandisk adapter and installing the driver for it. If the operating system is unable to find a suitable driver, you will be prompted for the installation CD that came with the adapter.
