Recover bookmarks from crashed Firefox

Here are the steps to recover bookmarks from a crashed Mozilla Firefox.

For version 2

1. Navigate to the drive where you have installed Windows XP.
2. Let me presume it to be in C drive for all the following steps. Browse to the following folder
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles (%username% is the name with which you login to the computer)
3. You will see a folder there with a .default in its name. Open it and you will find a folder named "bookmarkbackups".
4. When you open the folder, you can see one or more than one files in html format. Do notice that they have a date tag in their names. Copy the file and paste it inside the Main Profile Default directory "C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*****.default"

For Firefox 3, the bookmarks can be restored by clicking on Bookmarks ->Organize Bookmarks -> Import & Backup->Restore and select the file as per the date you want.
