if you are trying to use tethering on a Virgin Mobile I wouldn't recommend it even with their faster 3g internet phones like the Shuttle. They charge way too much for internet. Their biggest web/data plan is only 50 megs a month. It's real easy to use up 50 megs if you're on a pc. Go with an unlimited plan like Verizon's inpulse prepaid for that. They give you unlimited web for a dollar a day including 3g high speed evdo if your phone has it and don't charge you on the days you don't use it. The only catch is you can't activate a smartphone/pda phone on it.
But still , it's way cheaper then Virgin's meg a day for $1.50 for their regular non plan rate.
